Pooja Hegde dubs her voice in Tamil for the first time

Pooja Hegde is currently receiving more offers in Tamil, whereas Telugu ones have dried up altogether. Pooja Hegde portrayed the female role opposite Suriya in filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj’s “Retro,” which will be released on May 1, 2025.

The team revealed that Pooja Hegde not only worked hard on the film, but she also learned Tamil to dub her voice. Pooja Hegde has previously appeared in three Tamil films, including Vijay’s “Beast.” This is the first time she has dubbed her voice into Tamil.

Pooja Hegde was born and raised in Mumbai; however, her family roots are in Karnataka. She is conversant in Hindi and Kannada. She also speaks Telugu and has dubbed her voice in Telugu films like “Aravinda Sametha” and “Ala Vaikunthapurramllo.” But this was the first time she dubbed her voice in Tamil.

The “Retro” staff was ecstatic about her dedication to her profession.

“After an impressive look test, she began her daily Tamil training and surprised everyone by delivering even lengthy monologue sequences flawlessly. There were plenty of fun moments on set, with the team confusing her with tougher Tamil words.

And here’s the big news Pooja Hegde is dubbing in her own voice for the first time in a regional Tamil film.,” the production house posted on social media.
