Prabhas has scored a very big blockbuster this year. “Kalki 2898 AD”, directed by Nag Ashwin, has become the year’s biggest hit among Indian movies in any language. The second part for “Kalki 2898 AD” will soon start filming.
But the movie missed the chance to set to cross major milestones ever after reaching the vicinity of them.
In the North America, the film grossed $18.5 million and ended its run. At one time, it looked to cross the $20 million mark. Had it touched the $20 million, it would have become the only the second Indian movie ever to do so. Rajamouli directed Prabhas starrer “Baahubali 2” was the all-time highest-grossing Indian movie in North America with the gross of $20.5 million. “Kalki 2898 AD” came close to it but missed the chance to cross $20 million milestone.
Although Prabhas holds the record of having all-time no.1 and no.2 movies in North America.
On the other hand, “Kalki 2898 AD” so far collected 290 Cr (nett) in North India. Its theatrical run in India has almost ended now. The film is a huge blockbuster in Hindi. But the film is unlikely to touch the 300 Cr mark.
Thus, Prabhas has missed the golden chance of crossing two major milestones with this movie.
