Prabhas is currently juggling multiple high-profile projects, including “Fauji”, “Spirit”, and “Kalki 2”. Ideally, “Fauji” should have been nearing completion by now. At one stage, the makers were targeting a Summer 2026 release before shifting their plans to Dasara 2026. As production delays continued, industry circles expected the film to arrive by December this year.

However, the latest buzz suggests that “Fauji” may not even make it to theaters in the first half of 2027 due to repeated schedule disruptions and slow production progress.

Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, known for his visually rich storytelling and meticulous attention to detail, the film demands extensive planning and execution. The filmmaker is reportedly unwilling to compromise on quality, which has further contributed to the prolonged schedule.

Prabhas’s packed commitments and frequent breaks for health and personal reasons have also made it difficult to allocate continuous dates for the project. As a result, sources say the film still requires another six to seven months of shooting to complete production.

Industry gossip recently claimed that veteran actress Jayaprada’s dates were reportedly wasted during a ten-day schedule, with no scenes being filmed. While unverified, such reports highlight the production challenges the team has been facing.

With shooting progressing at a slower pace than expected, many in the trade are now questioning whether “Fauji” can even meet a Summer 2027 release target.

Set in the pre-Independence era, “Fauji” is an alternate-history drama that features Prabhas as a soldier. The film marks the acting debut of Imanvi and also stars Jayaprada, Mithun Chakraborty, and Anupam Kher in key roles.
