There have been several reports and theories surrounding “Devara 2.” NTR-starrer “Devara: Part 1,” released in 2024, turned out to be a major success. However, NTR did not show interest in starting the second part immediately and instead moved on to another project, Prashanth Neel’s “Dragon.”
This led to rumours that the sequel, popularly referred to as “Devara 2,” had been completely shelved. Director Koratala Siva, however, has consistently maintained that the second part would definitely happen.
Now, producer Sudhakar Mikkilineni has officially confirmed the same. Speaking at a recent event, he announced that the principal photography of “Devara 2” will begin in May 2026, with the film aiming for a theatrical release in 2027. Expressing strong confidence, he stated that the sequel would be a “sure-shot blockbuster.”
“Devara 2” follows the massive success of “Devara: Part 1,” which featured NTR as a fierce coastal lord alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The film went on to become the highest-grossing movie of NTR’s career as a solo hero and also collected around $6 million at the North American box office.
