After creating a significant buzz about a potential theater shutdown starting June 1st—demanding a shift from the rental system to a percentage-based model—the producers and exhibitors of the Telugu film industry have now officially called it off.

Announcing the decision, producer Damodara Prasad stated, “Bandh Gindhu Emi Levu” (There is no shutdown). He is the secretary of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce.

He added that the issue was miscommunicated to the public and clarified that an Executive Committee (EC) meeting will be held on May 30th to discuss all aspects of the theatrical business in detail.
