Rajinikanth recently met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his Lucknow residence. After wrapping up his Himalayan trip, Rajinikanth met with the Chief Minister and held a special screening of his “Jailer” film for the UP government bosses. However, it is the video of Rajinikanth touching Yogi Adityanath’s feet that has sparked debate.

While Rajinikanth’s fans dismiss it as a regular act, others mocked him.

The fans say nearly all Hindus touch the feet of gurus and monks. They argue that because Yogi Adityanath was a monk before becoming Chief Minister and is also the mahant (Head Priest) of the Gorakhnath Math, Rajinikanth touched the Chief Minister’s feet. However, social media users are not buying this theory. Yogi Adityanath, they say, is now a politician, not a sage. They argue that by touching CM Adityanath’s feet, Rajinikanth lowered his statue and image.

Rajinikanth is a deeply religious and spiritual man. He lives a simple life, visiting temples and does meditation in the Himalayas on a regular basis.

He had a huge success with “Jailer,” which grossed over 500 crore globally.
