Director Boyapati Sreenu’s “Skanda” featured Ram Pothineni in a bulky avatar. As per the director’s vision, Ram put on weight.
But when it came to reprising the role of Shankar in “Double iSmart,” he knew he had to maintain a lean look. “Double iSmart” is the sequel to “iSmart Shankar,” and he went for the same look of the original film.
“I went to Bali and took up intense physical training to lose weight. I was 86 kg when I stepped into Bali and returned to India, losing nearly 18 kg. I am 68 kg now,” Ram Pothineni revealed.
Ram is conducting promotional interviews as the release date (August 15, 2024) is nearing.
Directed by Puri Jagannadh, “Double iSmart” generated favorable buzz with its trailers and songs. Despite the fact that both Puri Jagannadh and Ram’s previous films didn’t perform well at the box office, the film is carrying good expectations.
