Actress Rashmika Mandanna has strongly reacted after an old audio clip allegedly involving her mother surfaced online and went viral, sparking fresh controversy.
The clip, believed to be from nearly eight years ago, reportedly contains remarks about Kannada actor Rakshit Shetty during the time when Rashmika and Rakshit were in a relationship and briefly engaged. The engagement was later called off, and both actors moved on with their lives.
The audio resurfaced just days after Rashmika’s wedding to actor Vijay Deverakonda, leading to renewed social media debate.
Reacting to the controversy, Rashmika posted a long and emotional note condemning the circulation of the private audio. She said the clip appears to have been recorded and leaked without the knowledge or consent of those involved, calling it a serious invasion of privacy.
Rashmika also stated that a small portion of the conversation was taken out of context and deliberately circulated to create controversy, especially at a time when she has entered a new phase of her personal life.
In her statement, she revealed that she has faced years of misinformation, harassment, and targeted attacks, but had chosen silence until now. However, the latest incident, which also dragged her family and other people into the issue, forced her to respond.
The actress said she is now drawing a boundary, making it clear that the continued attempts to create hate and controversy at the cost of her dignity and peace are unacceptable.
She also asked all media and influencers to remove it immediately or face legal action.
