RC17: Sukumar to reveal key update on this day

Director Sukumar has been in no hurry to start his next project ever since January 2025. Even before the release of “Pushpa 2,” which went on to become his biggest and record-breaking blockbuster, the much-awaited collaboration between Sukumar and Ram Charan was officially announced. The project was confirmed as Ram Charan’s 17th film, #RC17, and was expected to go on floors in March.

However, plans have slightly shifted. With “Peddi” now postponed from March 27 to April 30, the commencement of RC17’s shooting has also been delayed. This naturally raised questions about whether the film would at least see a formal launch before filming begins.

According to sources close to the project, Sukumar is expected to provide clarity on RC17 on March 27, which coincides with Ram Charan’s birthday. While fans are eagerly hoping for a video glimpse or a grand announcement, the director is reportedly keeping things low-key. Instead, a special poster confirming key details is likely to be unveiled on the day.

The regular shoot of RC17 is expected to begin after June, as Ram Charan will undergo another physical makeover following the release of “Peddi.”

Expectations are high, given that Sukumar and Ram Charan previously delivered the industry hit “Rangasthalam.” This new film is also being planned on a large scale, possibly as a two-part pan-Indian project, aiming for a wider national appeal.
