‘Shaakuntalam’, a mythological drama, has been in the making for a long time. Samantha wrapped her shooting part much before she took divorce from Naga Chaitanya.
Director Gunasekhar has been working on the film’s post-production work and VFX. It seems the work is reaching the final stage.
The makers today announced the film’s theatrical release date. ‘Shaakuntalam’ will release on November 4.
Based on a play written by Kalidas, ‘Shaakuntalam’ is a love story between Shakuntala and prince Dushyant. Samantha essays the titular character. Malayalam actor Dev Mohan is playing Dushyant.
Dil Raju is presenting the film while Neelima Guna produces the film. It will be released as a Pan-Indian project in multiple languages. Mani Sharma composed the music.
