Sampath Nandi, who wrote and co-produced “Odela 2,” shared that the film recovered its budget even before hitting the theaters. The film stars Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead role, where she portrays a Naga Sadhu.
Three days after the release, Sampath expressed satisfaction with the audience’s response. While co-producer D. Madhu appeared disheartened by some of the negative reviews, Sampath Nandi urged viewers not to compare “Odela 2” with films like Arundhati or Akhanda.
“The budget we spent on this project was already recovered before release” The film broke even prior to its theatrical debut. Every rupee we receive from theaters now feels like a blessing from the Almighty,” he said.

Sampath also spoke about the pride felt by the villagers of Odela: “I’ve never boasted about my abilities. I didn’t believe in gods much until a few years ago, but with this film, I truly feel Lord Shiva made me write it. It’s a wonderful feeling when people from my village call and say they’re proud of the film.”
Sampath Nandi also praised Tamannaah for her performance, saying, “Her 20-year career before this film was entirely different. She surprised everyone by portraying a devotional role with such depth and conviction.”
