Sekhar Kammula plans reunion with Naga Chaitanya

Director Sekhar Kammula is currently working on the script for his next project. After attempting a pan-India outing with “Kuberaa,” the filmmaker is now shifting his focus back to the Telugu market.

Kuberaa, which starred Dhanush in the lead role, failed to perform well in Tamil Nadu, the actor’s home market. However, the film managed to post a decent run in the Telugu states.

Following this experience, Sekhar Kammula appears to be returning to a more familiar space. Industry buzz suggests that he is planning to reunite with Naga Chaitanya for his next film.

The director and Chaitanya earlier worked together on “Love Story,” which was released soon after the COVID-19 phase. The film ended up as an average grosser at the box office, but its songs became hugely popular.

With Naga Chaitanya’s market witnessing growth in recent years, Kammula is reportedly planning a bigger scale project this time. The director is said to be working on a script that can blend his emotional storytelling style with a broader commercial appeal.

Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya is currently busy wrapping up the shooting of “Vrushakarma,” which is being directed by Karthik Dandu.
