‘Sinners’ creates history with 16 Oscar nominations

The nominations for the Oscars 2026 were announced, and the film “Sinners”, starring Michael B. Jordan in a dual role, has created history. The movie has become the first film in Oscar history to receive nominations in 16 categories.
With this feat, “Sinners” has surpassed previous record holders such as “Titanic” and “La La Land”, both of which had received 14 nominations each. The record-breaking tally includes major categories like Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay.
Meanwhile, “One Battle After Another”, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, also emerged as a major contender with 13 nominations, making it one of the top-nominated films this year.
