Sukumar has been taking a break for the last few months. “Pushpa 2,” the biggest blockbuster of his career as a filmmaker, was released in December 2024. After the release, he and Allu Arjun were troubled by the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident.
Now, Allu Arjun has moved on to his next film, which will be directed by Atlee. Sukumar, on the other hand, went on vacation and has been spending more time with his wife and kids.
He will continue to rest for another month. Starting in June, Sukumar and his writing team will begin scripting his next film, which will feature Ram Charan.
Sukumar already has a storyline in mind, but it needs to be developed into a full-fledged script. Typically, Sukumar holds brainstorming sessions with his team, takes their suggestions and scene ideas, and incorporates them into his script while keeping his core concept intact. This entire process is expected to take five to six months.
Ram Charan is currently filming “Peddi,” directed by Sukumar’s former associate Buchi Babu. After completing that project, Charan will decide when to begin his next film. So Sukumar has ample time to finish the script before Charan is ready.
