Sushant Singh death case: Centre accepts the request for CBI probe

Sushant Singh and Rhea Chakraborty

The Indian government has accepted the Bihar government’s recommendation for the CBI probe into the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Supreme Court on Wednesday sought a status report on the case from Mumbai police.

The Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre, told the Supreme Court that the Centre had accepted Bihar Chief Minister’s request for the CBI probe.

Supreme Court has asked Bihar, Maharashtra, the center, and Sushant Singh Rajput’s father to file their responses to Rhea Chakraborty’s petition in three days. Rhea in her petition sought the transfer of the case from Patna to Mumbai and Mumbai police also argued that the Patna police have no jurisdiction to either lodge an FIR or investigate it
