Swayambhu release uncertainity: When will Nikhil Siddhartha’s epic arrive?

Nikhil Siddhartha’s ambitious period drama “Swayambhu” continues to face uncertainty over its theatrical release. Delayed by more than six months, the big-budget film is yet to lock a release date.

A few months ago, Nikhil shared a video from a VFX studio, where he interacted with technicians and assured fans that the team was prioritizing quality over speed. He said the makers would announce the release date only after completing the extensive visual effects work, emphasizing that they were unwilling to compromise on the film’s output.

However, industry insiders suggest the delay is not solely due to VFX. Several films that were originally planned for the first half of 2026 are still waiting for suitable release windows, and “Swayambhu” is one among them.

If everything goes as planned, the film is likely to target a September or October 2026 release.

Directed by Bharat Krishnamachari, “Swayambhu” stars Nikhil Siddhartha as a warrior king, with Samyuktha portraying a lady warrior. Mounted on a lavish scale, the film revolves around the significance of the Sengol and promises a grand cinematic experience.
