Telangana Cinematography Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav stated that the government has no plans of restricting film shows or reducing occupancy in the state in the wake of the Omicron threat. “The government has taken all necessary steps to tackle the Omicron variant. There is no need to lose sleep worrying over it,” he said.
He also urged people to stop spreading rumors.
A delegation comprising Tollywood bigwigs Dil Raju, Sunil Narang, Danayya, Rajamouli, DVV Danayya, S Radha Krishna, Trivikram, Abhishek Nama, and Yerneni Naveen met the minister.
Talasani promised the delegation that the state government would extend all support. He also rubbished the rumors of slashing ticket rates.
“Due to coronavirus, the Telugu film industry had already suffered losses and went through a financial slump. The release of ‘Akhanda’ has brought much-needed relief. Other biggies like Pushpa, RRR, Bheemla Nayak, and Acharya have lined up. We will help the industry get out of the current slump. There is no need to panic as we are prepared to face the threat of Omicron,” he informed the delegation.
