Tamil actor Vivek, popular films such as ‘Vaali’ and ‘Aparachitudu’, is no more. He breathed his last early this morning while undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Chennai. He was 59 and survived by a wife and two daughters.

On Friday, he suffered a massive heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. He was put on ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) support.
Vivek’s death shocked the entire Tamil film industry and celebrities paid rich tributes to him.
Vivek gained prominence as a comedian in the 1990s. At one time, there were no Tamil films without featuring him. He became popular in Telugu as well through the dubbed movies. He was also honored with the prestigious Padma Shri award.
