Early trends in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections suggest a remarkable debut for Vijay. As of 11 AM on May 4, his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), is leading in over 100 seats, putting it in contention to emerge as the single largest party.

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIDMK) is currently in second place, while the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has slipped to third in the early rounds. However, with counting still underway, it remains to be seen whether these trends will hold.

Regardless of the final outcome, Vijay’s political entry has already made a significant impact. Very few film stars have generated such momentum in their first electoral outing, prompting comparisons with icons like M. G. Ramachandran and N. T. Rama Rao.

Initial trends indicate strong support for TVK among youth and women voters. In Chennai, the party is reportedly showing a dominant performance in several constituencies, highlighting Vijay’s growing connect with urban voters.
