Thalapathy Vijay’s popularity and market in the United States are rapidly expanding. His films have just recently begun to gross $1 million. Only Rajinikanth has the ability to draw more than $1 million for premiere shows among Tamil film industry’s top actors. But he couldn’t do the same for “Jailor”. The Rajinikanth film gained popularity following its premiere.
In contrast, Thalapathy Vijay’s “Leo” has set a new record for the star. Vijay’s film grossed $1 million in advance sales for premiere shows, a first in his career. This is a huge accomplishment for him.
“Leo” is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, who has a strong track record of producing blockbusters. Lokesh’s previous film “Vikram” set numerous records. As a result, the combination of Lokesh and Vijay made this “Leo” a red hot film, with massive advance sales in the overseas market as well.
The heroine in “Leo” is Trisha. The movie is said to be based on the Hollywood film “A History of Violence.”
