‘Varanasi’ team begins interviews a year in advance

A day after unveiling the first video glimpse of “Varanasi,” director SS Rajamouli has already kickstarted the film’s global promotions, more than a year ahead of its release. The movie, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is a grand visual spectacle that blends elements of the Ramayana with fantasy.

Known for his masterful promotional strategies, Rajamouli is aiming to cement his place as a global filmmaker with “Varanasi.”

The team has hired an international PR agency and flown in top Hollywood media outlets and social media influencers to Hyderabad for exclusive interactions. Interview sessions began immediately after the footage launch. Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran have already recorded multiple interviews with leading Hollywood publications. Rajamouli himself has been giving one-on-one interviews to international media, pushing the film’s visibility long before its release.

Priyanka Chopra also acknowledged this unprecedented promotional blitz, writing: “Working alongside these two legends of the Telugu and Malayalam industries, and coming together for an SS Rajamouli film, is already such a privilege.
