Veteran lyricist Adrushta Deepak passes away

Yet another film celebrity lost to the deadly second wave of COVID-19. Veteran lyricist and poet Adrushta Deepak died of COVID-19 on Sunday in Ramachandrapuram in Andhra Pradesh. He was 70.

Born in 1950 in Ramachandrapuram, Adrushta Deepak was a leftist writer. He made his debut as a lyricist in Madaala Rangarao’s ‘Yuvataram Kadilindi’ in 1980. “Aasayala Pandirilo” was his first song. 

“Manavatvam Parimilinche Manchi Manasuku Swagatam’ (Neti Bharatam) shot on Vijayashanthi and Suman was the most popular among his songs. 

He later wrote for several of T Krishna-directed movies such as Neti Bharatam, Devalayam, Vandemaatram, Desamlo Dongalu Paddaru, Bharatanaari. He also wrote songs in films like ‘Ardharatri Swaatantryam’, ‘Jaitra Yatra’, ‘Nava Yugam’, ‘Kanchu Kagada’, and ‘Badili’.
