Actor Vijay Deverakonda narrowly escaped injury after his car was involved in a road accident near Undavalli in Jogulamba Gadwal district on Monday evening. He was on his way back to Hyderabad from Puttaparthi when the incident occurred.
Vijay Deverakonda and his family had visited Sri Sathya Sai Ashram in Puttaparthi a day earlier to offer prayers. The actor spent part of his childhood studying at the ashram.
The accident took place near Varasiddhi Vinayaka Cotton Mill on National Highway 44. A truck transporting sheep from Nandikotkur to Pebbair reportedly applied sudden brakes, leading to a chain reaction. Vijay’s vehicle then collided with a Bolero pickup coming from the opposite direction, resulting in partial damage to his car.
Fortunately, no one was injured. Vijay Deverakonda escaped without any harm. His driver, Ande Srikanth, lodged a report at the Undavalli police station in Gadwal district. After the incident, Vijay continued his journey home in a friend’s car.
Reports recently suggested that Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna got engaged, prompting speculation that the family’s visit to Puttaparthi was connected to the occasion. However, neither actor has confirmed or denied the engagement and both have remained silent on the matter.
Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are currently working together on a period film directed by Rahul Sankrityan.
