Vijay indirectly addresses Trisha rumors during election campaign
Tamil superstar Vijay has been aggressively campaigning for his party TVK in the ongoing election season. The Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026 are scheduled for April 23, 2026.
During a recent campaign speech, Vijay, for the first time, spoke about the personal rumors surrounding his life.
Without directly naming the reports about his alleged affair with Trisha Krishnan or the speculation about his marriage with Sangeetha Sornalingam, he hinted that his political opponents were targeting him.
He said his rivals have been trying to disturb him and bring him down by spreading baseless allegations. “They first tried to stop the release of my film Jana Nayagan. When that didn’t work, they started targeting people close to me,” he stated.
“When other plans failed, they spread rumors about those who are close to me. You know what I am talking about. Whatever they do, no one can separate me from the people,” he added, without directly referring to the ongoing controversy.
For the past few weeks, there has been intense speculation about his personal life, including rumors that his wife Sangeetha has filed for divorce due to his alleged closeness with Trisha. There were also unverified claims that Vijay is currently living with the actress.
