“Toxic,” starring Yash, was earlier projected as one of the biggest films in Indian cinema and is believed to have the potential to become another Rs 1000 crore grosser. The film was initially slated for release in March, later pushed to June 4, and eventually postponed indefinitely.

Some reports claimed that the film had not yet closed its OTT deal and that streaming platforms were unwilling to offer the amount the actor, who is also co-producing the film, was expecting. Hence, the delay.

However, Yash has finally addressed the ongoing speculation surrounding the postponement. In an interview with Variety, the star clarified that the delay is part of a carefully planned distribution strategy.

According to Yash, the makers are adopting a model closer to the Hollywood system of film distribution. Instead of locking distribution deals during production, the team plans to complete the film first and then screen the finished product for potential distribution partners.

“Toxic,” directed by Geetu Mohandas, is one of the most anticipated pan-Indian projects currently in production. The film marks Yash’s first major release after the blockbuster success of the “KGF” franchise.
