Sunitha, the renowned playback singer and judge on the popular reality music show “Padutha Teeyaga,” released a video today addressing the serious allegations made by contestant Pravasthi Aradhya.
“Character isn’t built on rumors, and neither is reputation destroyed by them. We remain confident that the truth will prevail over speculation,” Sunitha stated on social media, firmly dismissing the claims.
Pravasthi, recently evicted from the show, had accused Sunitha, along with music director MM Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose, of discriminatory behavior and harassment.
“When Pravasthi was a child, I once had her on my lap, comforting and appreciating her. But she’s 19 now. It wouldn’t be appropriate to do the same with a grown-up girl,” Sunitha explained.
“She took my name and made allegations—so I’m responding. Otherwise, I wouldn’t bother addressing baseless rumors,” Sunitha added.
Clarifying further, Sunitha pointed out the song selection process on the show: “Pravasthi knows very well that the TV channels airing the program choose songs based on rights. The channel cannot use a song if it does not own the telecast rights. That’s the only reason behind selecting or avoiding certain songs—there’s no hidden agenda.”
MM Keeravani and Chandrabose have not yet responded to Pravasthi’s allegations.
