Exclusive: Sukumar’s new record with 100 crore paycheck
Sukumar, the director of “Pushpa”, has joined the Rs 100 crore club. He is the second Telugu director to be paid Rs 100 crore after Rajamouli.
This is the sum agreed upon by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar for “Pushpa 2.” Sukumar will receive a stake in the OTT business as well as fixed paycheck. Mythri Movie Makers recently sold its OTT rights to Netflix for a record price.
Prior to “Pushpa Part 1,” Sukumar was paid Rs 25 crore. For a film, his earnings can now reach Rs 100 crore. Of course, it is dependent on the business transactions. That OTT transaction has now been completed for a record sum. We can safely assume he receives that Rs 100 crore altogether (fixed paycheck + stake in OTT deal).
“Pushpa 2” is currently in shooting. The film will be released on August 15, 2024. The film, starring Allu Arjun, has been generating a lot of buzz since the first installment was a smash hit.
