Satya Dev: Never received so much appreciation before
Actor Satyadev is riding high on the success of “Kingdom,” the recently released gangster drama starring Vijay Deverakonda and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. The film, which explores the emotional bond between two brothers, has been earning rave reviews for its gripping narrative and emotional depth. Satyadev played the role of “Shiva,” a character that has struck a chord with the audience.
Speaking about the overwhelming response, Satyadev said, “I’ve never received so many calls and messages in my entire career. From the first show itself, the love has been nonstop. When Gowtam narrated the story, I didn’t think twice. I immediately said yes because the character moved me deeply.”
Interestingly, the role was written with him in mind. “Gowtam told me later, ‘You were always the one I envisioned for Shiva.’ Though the team had briefly explored other options due to delays, it felt like destiny brought the role back to me,” he recalled. The actor also highlighted how Kingdom, unlike his earlier hits, gained massive reach instantly, thanks to its scale and Vijay’s fanbase.
The much-discussed boat sequence was another test. “I had no experience driving a boat. Vijay had to trust me completely, and we had a few near-misses. But after some intense practice, we got it right,” he laughed.
Satyadev also praised Vijay Deverakonda. “I didn’t have friendship with him before this film. I came to know him well during the making. He is a very good person and friendly guy. He is a terrific actor as well. I was amazed at his talent of grasping things immediately.
Looking ahead, Satya Dev has a packed slate. His web series “Arabian Kadali” will stream on Amazon Prime from August 8. His film “Full Bottle” is ready for release, and he’s collaborating on upcoming projects with directors Venkatesh Maha.
