Vikram Prabhu is eager to win the love of Telugu audiences

Vikram Prabhu, grandson of the legendary Sivaji Ganesan, is making his much-awaited Telugu debut with “Ghaati.” Starring alongside Anushka Shetty, the film is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by UV Creations in association with First Frame Entertainments. The film cleared its censor formalities and is set for release on Sep 5, 2025.

Sharing his excitement, Vikram Prabhu revealed that director Krish had him in mind while writing the role.

“Krish is a very positive person and a director with immense experience. Before narrating the story, he even presented what the Ghaati world would look like and explained why he chose me. He pointed out scenes from my past films that inspired him to create this character. That gave me huge confidence,” he said.

The actor described the script as fresh and relatable. “Krish did a lot of homework while preparing the story. He answered all my questions with great clarity, which made me trust the project even more. What makes it extra special is that Anushka, one of my favorite actors, is the main lead of this film,” Vikram Prabhu shared.

On stepping into Telugu cinema, Vikram Prabhu expressed his admiration for the industry.

“I am a huge fan of Chiranjeevi garu and Nagarjuna garu. I have watched their films in theaters many times, so doing a direct Telugu film now feels very exciting,” he said with pride.

Vikram Prabhu also revealed that he had once missed the opportunity to act alongside Anushka. “Director Gunasekhar had initially narrated to me the role of Gona Ganna Reddy in Rudhramadevi, which later went to Allu Arjun. He gave 100 percent justice to it. So, when Ghaati came my way, I grabbed it with both hands,” he concluded.
