10 Days collection: ‘Mirai’ struggles in Hindi, soars in USA

Teja Sajja’s “Mirai” turned into a massive hit in Telugu, but its Hindi version failed to replicate the success. Expectations were high, especially since his earlier film “HanuMan” had grossed nearly Rs 50 crore nett in India from the Hindi version alone.
However, after ten days, “Mirai” managed only ₹15.4 crore nett in the North Indian market. This is a very modest figure.
To put this in perspective, even Vijay Deverakonda’s widely criticized “Liger” collected Rs 18.55 crore nett in 12 days, meaning “Mirai” performed lower than a certified disaster.
On the brighter side, the film continues to perform strongly overseas. In the USA, its second weekend brought in solid numbers, pushing the total to $2.6 million, with the $3 million milestone now in sight.
The verdict: “Mirai” is a blockbuster in Telugu but underwhelming in Hindi, flop in Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam.
