Akhanda 2 premieres on track despite court rejecting G.O.

The issues surrounding “Akhanda 2: Thaandavam” don’t seem to end. The film is set to premiere in a couple of hours, with paid premieres scheduled to begin at 9 PM in Hyderabad and other centers. Bookings for these shows have been strong.
However, the Telangana High Court has rejected the government-approved ticket price hike and special show permissions just hours before the premiere. The court ruled that the special G.O. and the enhanced prices are not valid.
After hearing the petition, the High Court suspended the order allowing increased prices for premiere shows. Notices were issued to the Film Development Corporation (FDC) and the film’s production house, and the hearing has been adjourned to tomorrow.

The sequel reunites Balakrishna with director Boyapati Sreenu. The film has already overcome financial and legal hurdles last week before gearing up for release.
