Ram Pothineni turns director for his next RAPO23

Ram Pothineni set to take a major leap in his career by making his directorial debut with his 23rd film, #RAPO23. Known for constantly reinventing himself on screen, Ram had earlier impressed audiences by turning lyricist and playback singer for Andhra King Taluka. Now, the actor is stepping behind the camera for a stylish psychological action thriller — a genre rarely explored in Telugu cinema.

The film was officially announced on the occasion of Ram’s birthday and will be produced by Krishna a Pothineni under the newly launched banner, RAPO Cinematics.

The makers also unveiled a striking birthday poster introducing Ram’s character, Veera. Featuring the actor from behind in a rugged leather jacket, the poster carries a dark and intense tone. 

His sharp V-cut hairstyle, combined with the bold red “V” in the backdrop, symbolizes rebellion, danger, and dominance. The faint skyscrapers add to the gritty urban atmosphere, while the tagline, “The Story of a Lone Wolf,” hints at a psychologically layered protagonist driven by solitude and instinct.

Conceived by Ram himself, RAPO23, promises to present the actor in a completely new avatar. The film’s regular shoot is scheduled to begin in June, with the makers targeting a theatrical release in December this year.
