Karthi turns 49; New Telugu film officially announced

Karthi, one of the most popular Tamil stars among Telugu audiences, is celebrating his 49th birthday today. Over the years, he has steadily built a strong market in the Telugu states and remains one of the few Tamil actors to enjoy a loyal fan base across both industries.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, Karthi speaks Telugu fluently and has consistently made an effort to connect with Telugu audiences. He has also shown a keen interest in acting in straight Telugu films, further strengthening his bond with moviegoers here.

On the occasion of his birthday, several production houses unveiled special updates on his upcoming projects. Prince Pictures released a striking new poster from “Sardar 2”, featuring Karthi wielding a sword amid a vibrant rural festival backdrop. Meanwhile, Sithara Entertainments teased his landmark 30th film, a bilingual comedy co-starring Meenakshi Chaudhary. The project will be directed by Kalyan Shankar, best known for the “Mad” franchise.

Apart from this film, Karthi is also set to headline “HIT 4”, which will be produced by Nani. With multiple Telugu projects in the pipeline, Karthi’s association with Tollywood appears stronger than ever.
