Peddi team withdraws high court petition seeking ticket price hike

Ram Charan’s much-awaited film “Peddi is set for a grand release on June 4. Ahead of the release, the film’s producers approached the Telangana High Court seeking permission to increase ticket prices for one week.
In their petition, the makers informed the court that they had submitted representations to the Home Secretary on two separate occasions requesting approval for a ticket price hike. However, as no decision was communicated, they moved the High Court for relief.
After hearing the matter, the High Court took note of previous judgments related to ticket price revisions and refrained from issuing any directions. Following the court’s observations, the Peddi team chose to withdraw the petition.
As a result, no orders were passed by the High Court regarding the proposed ticket price increase. The team is also waiting to see whether the Telangana government agree to paid premiere shows on July 3rd as the Andhra Pradesh government has already given approval.
“Peddi” stars Ram Charan, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, Shiva Raj Kumar and Bomani Irani, with music by AR Rahman. The film is directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru on Vriddhi Cinemas banner in association with Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings.
