Peddi first weekend report: Rs 225 crore worldwide gross

Ram Charan starrer “Peddi”, directed by Buchi Babu, premiered globally on June 3 with paid premieres and opened in theaters worldwide on June 4. The film has completed its extended four-day opening weekend on an impressive note, driven largely by its phenomenal performance in the Telugu-speaking markets.

According to trade estimates, “Peddi” grossed around Rs 225 crore worldwide during its first four days. As a standalone figure, it is a massive achievement, especially considering that the overwhelming majority of the collections came from the Telugu version.

Peddi First Weekend Worldwide Gross

  • India Gross: Rs 180 crore (all languages)
  • Overseas Gross: Rs 45 crore
  • Worldwide Gross: Rs 225 crore

The film benefited significantly from strong growth over Saturday and Sunday, which helped it post robust weekend numbers. While the Telugu version dominated the box office, contributions from the Hindi, Tamil, and other dubbed versions remained minimal.

In North America, “Peddi” collected approximately $2.7 million during its opening weekend and is now expected to cross the $3 million mark shortly. However, given the high acquisition cost of the overseas rights, the film still has some distance to cover before reaching break-even in that territory.

The real challenge begins this week. “Peddi” needs to maintain its momentum through the weekdays and into the second weekend. With the summer holiday season coming to an end and schools set to reopen from June 12, sustaining collections will be crucial for the film’s long-term box-office performance.
