Director Deva Katta has strongly denied reports claiming that he is directing a key episode in Rajamouli’s ongoing film, “Varanasi”.

Deva Katta, an acclaimed filmmaker known for films like “Prasthanam”, shares a long-standing association with Rajamouli. He had also contributed as a dialogue writer to the “Baahubali” franchise.

Over the past few days, several media reports and social media posts speculated that Rajamouli had not only brought Deva Katta on board to write dialogues for “Varanasi” but had also entrusted him with directing a crucial sequence in the film.

The reports gained traction quickly, but Deva Katta has now dismissed them outright.

“Been spending most of my time writing and developing my next film. Excited about the journey ahead,” he posted on social media.

He further clarified: “Just to clear some rumours circulating in bad taste for clicks — I’m not at all directing even a single shot from any other films!! Looking forward to sharing updates on my most heartfelt and ambitious work yet when the time is right.”

With this statement, Deva Katta has put an end to the speculation, making it clear that he is currently focused on developing his own directorial project.

“Varanasi”, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra, is Rajamouli’s ambitious globe-trotting adventure and is currently under production.
