Akhil Akkineni’s “Lenin” appears to be facing yet another setback. The film, which was scheduled to hit theaters on June 26, is now likely to be postponed once again following a fresh round of reshoots.

One of the recurring issues in the Telugu film industry is the tendency of some production houses to announce release dates confidently, begin promotions, and then postpone films at the last minute. “Lenin” is the latest example.

Produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni and Naga Vamsi, the film has been in production for over two years and has already witnessed multiple changes in its release schedule. Despite the makers repeatedly assuring that the June 26 date was locked, the team has now reportedly decided to reshoot certain portions of the film.

What has surprised many is that the need for reshoots was identified barely two weeks before the planned release, making another postponement inevitable. As a result, “Lenin” is now expected to arrive in theaters sometime in July.

Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, who previously helmed “Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha” (2023), the film features Akhil Akkineni as a rural youth who falls in love with a village girl played by Bhagyashri Borse. Thaman is composing the music.
