Day 1 Box office: Akhil Akkineni’s ‘Lenin’ opens on a good note

Akhil Akkineni and Bhagyashri Borse-starrer “Lenin” has opened on a positive note at the box office. Although advance bookings for the morning shows were modest, the film witnessed a steady improvement as the day progressed. Collections picked up significantly from the evening shows, with Hyderabad recording a noticeable surge during the night shows.
In Andhra Pradesh, the film posted impressive numbers, led by the Vizag region, while the Rayalaseema area remained comparatively subdued.
The film grossed around Rs 7 crore from the Telugu states on its opening day. Karnataka contributed approximately Rs 65 lakh, while the overseas market added nearly Rs 2 crore, taking the worldwide Day 1 gross to around Rs 10 crore.
The encouraging opening comes as a welcome relief for Akhil Akkineni, who has been looking for a box office success after a series of setbacks. The team had expected collections to improve once positive word of mouth spread after the morning shows, and that is exactly what happened, with occupancy rising across most centres by the evening.
Produced jointly by Nagarjuna Akkineni and S. Naga Vamsi, “Lenin” is directed by Murali Kishor Abburu.
