Day 1: Daaku Maharaaj gets a $1 million opening

Daaku Maharaaj

Nandamuri Balakrishna starrer “Daaku Maharaaj” took a massive opening in North America. Despite the snowstorm in certain parts of the USA, the fans enthusiastically stepped out to watch Balayya on screen.

The film grossed more than $1 million on its first day (including premiere shows), by setting a new record in Balakrishna’s career. No other film of Balakrishna’s collected $1 million in a single day. “Daaku Maharaaj” did the magic for Balayya.

“Daaku Maharaaj” is on its course to becoming a hit in North America. The team also held a pre-release event in Dallas. While the US event didn’t help “Game Changer,” the Balakrishna movie gained from it.

Directed by Bobby, “Daaku Maharaaj” received mixed reviews, with critics terming the film’s first half as engaging and the second half turning monotonous. But the general public seemed to have been impressed with the stylish presentation. The film has Urvashi Rautela, Pragya Jaiswal, and Shraddha Srinath as the female lead actors.

Nandamuri Balakrishna played the role of an engineer named Sitharam turning “Daaku” to bring water to the parched lands.
