Dhanush, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer “Kuberaa” wrapped up its opening weekend on a strong note. The film collected approximately Rs 49 crore (nett) in India over three days, with each day seeing a steady growth in numbers.

The lion’s share of the revenue came from the Telugu version, while the Tamil version contributed modestly. The Hindi version, however, performed poorly. Kuberaa couldn’t hold its ground against Aamir Khan’s” Sitaare Zameen Par,” resulting in negligible collections in the Hindi market.

While “Kuberaa” was promoted as a pan-Indian film, the box office breakdown tells a different story: about 65% of the revenue came from Telugu, 30% from Tamil, and the rest negligible.

In the USA, the film crossed the $1.5 million (Rs 13 crore gross) milestone during its first weekend, an impressive feat for a content-driven drama.

Directed by Sekhar Kammula, “Kuberaa” marks a stylistic departure for the filmmaker, and the real test now lies in maintaining momentum during the weekdays.
