Ravanasura performs poorly, and Meter bombs

The month of April began on a sour note, with two new releases bringing little excitement to the Telugu film industry. Only Ravi Teja’s ‘Ravanasura’ carried expectations and pre-release buzz among the new releases. However, in comparison to Ravi Teja’s previous hit, ‘Dhamaka,’ the film performed poorly.

In Nizam, it earned Rs 3.50 crore (share) in its first weekend. According to preliminary estimates, it collected approximately Rs 9 crore (share) in AP and Telangana combined. This is too low for Ravi Teja’s range. And the film’s chances during the week appear bleak.

Ravi Teja’s negative role and low critical ratings did not help the film at all.

Meter, a washout

The greatest shame for any actor or production company is failing to cover the costs of movie posters. The same thing happened with the film ‘Meter,’ starring Kiran Abbavaram.

‘Dasara,’ on the other hand, did well over the second weekend as well. It nearly reached $2 million in the United States.
