The Telugu film industry is growing and growing for the past few years. The market has expanded. Today, Telugu films are also being watched in all states in India, either as a dubbed movie or a straight film with subtitles. Invariably, our Telugu films are outperforming the Bollywood movies.
Until a couple of years ago, Bollywood movies were used to be the first choice nationwide. But pandemic has changed it. The top actors of Bollywood have their problems to deal with. The Hindi producers have stopped taking risks, unlike the Telugu producers. Hence, the Telugu cinema went deep and wide.
There were no major releases from Bollywood during the pandemic years. Though actors like Akshay Kumar have released their movies, other biggies stayed away from the competition.
According to the Ormax report, Telugu films like ‘Pushpa’, ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramllo’, ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’, and ‘Vakeel Saab’ occupied the top position in India in the last two years 2020 and 2021.
