Alia Bhatt is one of the most popular stars of the Indian film industry and highly talented as an actress. She has delivered many blockbusters in her career. However, her latest Dasara release, “Jigra,” which also received Telugu dubbing and strong Hyderaba promotion, turned out to be a disappointment.
The release of the teaser and trailers for “Jigra” garnered attention. The promotional material looked quite promising. But post-release, the film received a lukewarm response from the general public. While some critics praised, the word of mouth remained on the negative side from day 1.
Naturally, the collections were affected badly. The Telugu version was a complete non-starter. “Jigra” had to compete with four other Telugu films, including Rajinikanth’s “Vettaiyan,” and failed to get decent opening collections.
This is a significant setback for Alia Bhatt.
