Sreeleela on Robinhood: I’ve never played such a fun role

Sreeleela

Sreeleela is going all out to promote Robinhood, expressing immense confidence in the film. Starring opposite Nithiin for the second time, she describes this as one of the most entertaining roles of her career. In a candid conversation, she shares insights into her character, her experience on set, and future projects.

Tell us about Robinhood and your role in it?

I play Neera Vasudev, a vibrant young woman who returns to India from abroad. She lives in her own world, believing everything revolves around her, making her character endearing and full of life.

This is my second collaboration with Nithiin, and working with him feels effortless. He is a family man. I’m confident that audiences will see us as a hit pair after this film. More than anything, I have never been part of such a fun-filled film in my career. It’s a complete entertainer, and I thoroughly enjoyed playing this role.

Rashmika was initially signed for this film but later opted out. Did that affect you in any way?

Not at all! In fact, Rashmika loved this character. She had to step away due to scheduling conflicts with her other commitments, like Pushpa 2. When I met her during the shoot of “Pushpa 3”, she spoke highly of the film and wished me well. I, too, was drawn to the role the moment I heard the narration, and I’m glad to have taken it up.

Robinhood

You took a year-long break from films. What was the reason?

In 2023, I was juggling multiple shoots—sometimes working four to five shifts a day! Since I was also in the final year of my MBBS, I had decided well in advance to take a break and focus on my studies. I turned down several promising projects for this reason, but now that I’ve completed my degree, I’m back with renewed energy.

What kind of roles excite you the most?

Besides being part of commercial entertainers, I want to do film that that carry a meaningful message.

There are rumors that you’re planning to settle in Bollywood. Any truth to that?

Absolutely not! The Telugu film industry is my home, and that will never change. Settling in Bollywood is simply out of the question.

Can you share some details about your upcoming projects?

I am currently working on “Parashakti” in Tamil. In Telugu, I’m shooting for “Mass Jatara” alongside Ravi Teja garu. Additionally, I’m part of Junior, a Kannada-Telugu bilingual. Apart from these, a few other projects are in discussion, and I will reveal details soon.
