A huge setback for Balakrishna’s star image

In recent years, no major Telugu film featuring an A-list star has faced financial issues severe enough to cancel paid premiere shows. “Akhanda 2” has now created an unfortunate precedent. Despite knowing the financial complications, the production house went ahead with preparations for paid premiere shows scheduled for 8 PM on Thursday and even secured permissions from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments.
Shockingly, ticket bookings for these premieres remained open on BookMyShow in Andhra Pradesh until 5:30 PM today, pointing to a lack of responsibility in handling the release process.
History in a different way!
Balakrishna had confidently stated that this film would set new records and create history. However, cancelling premiere shows due to pending financial clearances has instead created negative history, and disappointed fans are expressing their anger across social media platforms.
This situation has turned into a major setback for both Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Sreenu. Both reportedly charged remunerations that were considered higher than the current market standards.
Given Balakrishna’s stature and political influence, many believe he should have ensured these issues were resolved before scheduling premiere shows. With a last-minute cancellation, his star image has taken a hit.
Pawan Kalyan’s intervention for Hari Hara Veera Mallu
It is worth noting that during the release of “Hari Hara Veera Mallu,” producer AM Rathnam also faced financial hurdles, but Pawan Kalyan intervened to ensure the film released with paid premieres as planned. Although the film failed at the box office, Pawan Kalyan protected his market credibility. In Balakrishna’s case, that did not happen.
