The much-anticipated big-budget film AA22 (also known as #AA22xA6), starring Allu Arjun and directed by Atlee, has hit an unexpected hurdle. The team has cancelled its planned Dubai shooting schedule due to escalating war tensions in the region.
The film has been in production for over a year, with a significant portion already completed on specially constructed sets in Mumbai. Touted as a high-scale sci-fi entertainer, the movie features Allu Arjun in a dual role.
The makers had initially planned a major action sequence in Dubai this April. However, the ongoing conflict involving Iran has impacted the region, forcing the team to reconsider its plans and call off the schedule.
The production team is now weighing options. They may either wait for the situation to stabilize or shift the shoot to another international location.
Meanwhile, fans can look forward to an important update soon, as the makers are planning to announce the film’s official title on April 8, marking Allu Arjun’s birthday.
Produced by Sun Pictures, the film stars Deepika Padukone as the female lead. There has been speculation about the inclusion of Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur, though the makers are yet to confirm their roles. Music for the film is being composed by Sai Abhyankkar.
