Aamir Khan regrets acting in Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has admitted that acting in Rajinikanth’s “Coolie” was a mistake, a month after the film’s release. The movie underperformed at the box office and recently debuted on OTT, where it attracted further criticism, particularly aimed at Aamir Khan for accepting what many called a frivolous role.
Reflecting on his decision, Aamir Khan said he took the role primarily to share screen space with superstar Rajinikanth. He believed that his cameo appearance would be a fun addition and add some zing to the film. “But clearly, it didn’t land well. I was not involved creatively,” he candidly admitted.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj faced significant trolling for casting big names like Kannada superstar Upendra and Aamir Khan in inconsequential roles. Even Nagarjuna Akkineni’s villain role received mixed reactions from both critics and audiences.
Once known for making carefully judged career choices, Aamir Khan seems to be on a questionable streak lately, signing films that have been failing miserably at the box office.
