Adivi Sesh’s Dacoit skips the trend of paid premieres

In recent times, the trend of paid premiere shows has become common in the Telugu film industry, with even small-budget films opting for early screenings a day or two before release. However, Adivi Sesh’s “Dacoit” is choosing a different path.
The film is set to release in theaters on April 10, with shows beginning across India from 8 AM. The team has decided against holding any premiere shows the night before, breaking away from the ongoing trend.
This move is being seen as a healthy shift. In the past, paid premieres were used as a promotional strategy, but audiences have increasingly become wary of “paid tweets” and inflated early reactions on social media, which sometimes impacted genuine word-of-mouth and collections.
“Dacoit” blends romance with action, featuring Mrunal Thakur as Saraswathi, the former lover of Sesh’s character. Anurag Kashyap plays a police officer in the film.
Directed by Shaneil Deo, the film is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda.
