Actress Malavika Mohanan has quickly moved on after her recent Telugu debut failed to make an impact at the box office. The film, “The Raja Saab,” did not perform as expected, and she also faced online trolling over the use of a body double in certain portions.
Undeterred, Malavika has now shifted her focus back to Tamil cinema, where she enjoys a stronger track record.
She has officially begun shooting for a new Tamil film titled “Pocket Novel,” starring opposite Vijay Sethupathi. The project went on floors today.
“Pocket Novel” marks the third directorial venture of acclaimed filmmaker Thiagarajan Kumararaja, known for pathbreaking films like “Aaranya Kaandam” and “Super Deluxe.” With Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role and Malavika as the female lead, the film is already generating strong buzz in Kollywood circles.
Interestingly, Malavika had earlier shared screen space with Vijay Sethupathi in “Master,” where he played the antagonist. Banking on her better success ratio in Tamil films, Malavika is said to have high hopes for “Pocket Novel,” expecting it to strengthen her position in the industry.
