Pawan Kalyan successfully undergoes rotator cuff surgery in Mumbai

Pawan Kalyan underwent successful shoulder surgery at a hospital in Mumbai on Saturday morning. The actor-politician had been diagnosed with severe rotator cuff injuries in both shoulders, and doctors had recently advised him to undergo surgery at the earliest.

However, since he had already committed to several official engagements, Pawan Kalyan chose to complete those responsibilities before proceeding with the operation.

According to the medical team, performing surgery on both shoulders simultaneously would have caused unbearable post-operative pain. As a result, doctors operated only on his right shoulder on Saturday, while the required pre-operative medical tests were conducted on Friday.

The surgery reportedly lasted three and a half hours and was completed successfully. Doctors have advised that surgery on his left shoulder will be performed after a gap of approximately two months. He is currently under medical observation.

Pawan Kalyan first suffered shoulder injuries in 2016. Although doctors had recommended adequate rest after the initial treatment, he continued participating in public meetings and political activities.

During the Jana Sena Party’s 2018 Yatra, enthusiastic supporters frequently rushed towards him to shake hands, often pulling his arms in the process. Despite experiencing severe pain, he continued interacting with party workers and supporters without complaint.

The injuries worsened again after the 2019 elections.

Despite recurring pain over the years, Pawan Kalyan reportedly ignored the injuries and continued with his public commitments. Following Saturday’s surgery, he remains under the supervision of doctors, with a second procedure scheduled in the coming months.
